Rail Entertainment USA Inc. offers trains that have interest with all ages. On March 19, 2010 when we acquired these Florida rail operations, the section of track from Tavares to Mount Dora was out of service due to years of deferred track maintenance.
It is one of our Company’s primary goals to return this scenic section of track back to service in 2010 and offer our branded, family-oriented train excursions using vintage railroad equipment from days long past. All trains depart from our Mount Dora Florida Train Depot. Unless stated otherwise, all trains board at 1:30 p.m. and depart at 2 p.m.
Join us each Saturday and Sunday afternoon onboard the Mount Dora Scenic Railway’s historic 1920s excursion train as we depart for a one hour train ride. Each family is encouraged to participate in our "Quest For The Golden Spike" railroad game which begins as you board the train 30 minutes prior to departure. Experience train travel from the 1920s on historic railcars. Snacks and refreshments are available in our Baggage Car along with some railroad history photos and exhibits.
Join us on Saturday and Sunday afternoon’s in July and August onboard the Mount Dora Scenic Railway’s historic 1920s excursion train as we depart for a one hour excursion train ride. Each family is encouraged to participate in our "Quest For The Golden Spike" railroad game which begins as you board the train thirty minutes prior to departure. While onboard our scenic train, enjoy our picnic lunch. All children are encouraged to bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. Spend an afternoon as a family onboard the Mount Dora Scenic Railway’s Teddy Bear Picnic Lunch Train. Tickets for these special trains include a picnic lunch, and Teddy Bears ride FREE!
Throughout the year the Mount Dora Scenic Railway provides live themed entertainment including our famous COTTONTAIL EXPRESS with the EASTER BUNNY, Farmer McGregor & Friends, Hobo Halloween Express (not scary), and SANTA EXPRESS. Most of these trains are in their 26th year in 2010 and usually sell out. Get your tickets early and board the train early to explore and take part in the pre-departure activities.
Cuddle up with loved ones or keep together as a group because we are in for a haunted evening! Begin boarding 30 minutes prior to departure, if you can make it through the HAUNTED CABOOSE! DEAD MAN’S DINER opens when boarding begins. Our newest Halloween train, MOONLIGHT GHOST TRAIN is for older kids and adults who are looking for a SCARE!!!! Stick around in the Commissary Car to see classic, short black and white Halloween movies. A great time for both teenagers and adults of all Ages! Be sure and wear your favorite costume! Limited bar service is available in DEAD MAN’S DINER.
